About

Bateman’s was Rudyard Kipling’s family home from 1902-1936. He described Bateman’s as ‘a real house in which to settle down for keeps’. The house exuded the calm tranquillity he needed to write, with the gardens and surrounding countryside becoming the inspiration for much of his work.
