About

Established in 1985, Bentley Miniature Railway is one of South East England’s hidden gems—offering a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.

Located in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, between Ringmer and Uckfield, the railway is set within the scenic grounds of the Bentley Estate. Our one-mile, ground-level 7¼" gauge track winds through peaceful woodland and open spaces, making each ride a memorable journey.

We operate a range of steam and battery-electric locomotives, all privately owned and built to standard, narrow, or minimum gauge profiles. Passenger services run every weekend from Easter to the end of September, and mid-week during East Sussex school holidays—check our running days for up-to-date schedules.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of special events, including the ever-popular Santa Specials. For the latest news and event information, follow us on Facebook.

Bentley Miniature Railway is run entirely by volunteers—and we’re always looking for new members to join our friendly team. Whether you’re interested in engineering, train operations, or helping with events, we’d love to hear from you. No experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved!
