About
Lee Miller and Roland Penrose moved to the Sussex countryside to live at Farleys in 1949. For the thirty-five years that followed they filled their home and garden with a collection of contemporary art treasures and were visited by some of the key personalities in twentieth century art. Picasso, Man Ray and Miró were among those who came and their work is hung in the house alongside that of Miller, Penrose and numerous others. Farleys still conjures up an extraordinary atmosphere and provides visitors with a fascinating look into the remarkable lives of Lee Miller, Roland Penrose and their friends.
There is an exciting programme of workshops and events at Farleys House and Gallery throughout the year. Including: forest bathing, sketching, caring for vintage clothes, poetry, cookery and photography. For more details please visit their website.
Tea and cake are available in Farleys Gallery.
Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden during their visit.
