About

This course introduces traditional willow basketry techniques and guides students in creating a basic round basket, perfect for collecting soft fruit, herbs, and garden produce.

During the workshop, you will learn key basketry skills, including tying the slath, pairing, staking up, bordering, and creating a pegged handle. The baskets will be made using Somerset-grown willow.

All tools and materials are provided, so the course is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to develop their craft skills.

What to bring

The course will take place outdoors in woodland (weather permitting), so please wear suitable clothing and footwear for working outside.
