About

The Dewhurst family have lived in Fairwarp on the Ashdown Forest for 21 years, planting our small vineyard in an adjacent paddock in 2020. We are a family business, doing everything ourselves, mostly by hand, with great care and attention to detail.

Our approach is all about ethical practices and low intervention, being as kind to the environment, land and soil as possible. We are certified organic and use no pesticides or herbicides.

Our bottles are made from 75% recycled glass and all our packaging is plastic-free. Bottle labels are printed on recycled paper. The bottle caps are made from biodegradable wood pulp. We also encourage a bottle return scheme, sterilising and re-using bottles as many times as possible.

We are striving to produce wine that makes a difference to the environment and the village community that surrounds it.

We had our first full harvest in 2023 which is now available. This has produced a delicious, clean, crisp and fragrant still white wine, which we are proud to offer for sale on our website or at our vineyard from the cellar door. We will have a new Rose available for sale in spring 2025.

After the building of a small barn and winery in 2024, we are now open for tours and tastings which can be booked by email, phone or through our website.

Look out on our Instagram for any local events we will be attending and feel free to drop in to Fairwarp, try our lovely wine and have a chat with us. https://www.instagram.com/winklestonevineyard/
