The Nest is a beautifully interior designed, self-contained holiday cottage with a private garden and wonderful uninterrupted views to the woodland beyond. Ideally situated off a quiet country lane in the East Sussex village of Danehill, a High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and on the edge of the 6,500-acre Ashdown Forest, synonymous with Winnie the Pooh! The Nest sleeps four with a sumptuous king size four-poster bed and very comfortable double sofa-bed in an open-plan layout. Egyptian cotton bedlinen, hypo-allergenic pillows, duck/goose down duvets and soft blankets provided. Enjoy the spa-like marble-tiled bathroom with double ended bath, rainwater shower and waterfall taps with quality toiletries. Cot available on request at booking.

There is a dining/workspace with table and chairs, a cosy electric fireplace and the comfy seating area has a Smart TV with FreeSat and Netflix streaming, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker, and some DVDs. There is a selection of board games and a few childrens’ books/toys. Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need for a home away from home, including a Nespresso machine. Sit at the breakfast bar and enjoy the enchanting woodland views sipping your espresso!

Whether you are looking for a short break, a couple’s romantic getaway, small family holiday or a place to focus on your work, with its fast full-fibre Wi-Fi, The Nest offers you the chance to relax and unwind in an idyllic woodland setting. You will find all the comforts of home in this cosy woodland retreat nestled under the canopy of an old pear tree with its leafy first floor treehouse style entrance and your own private garden below, a peaceful spot where you can relax and listen to the birds and enjoy the woodland views. There is space for bikes to be stored and secure gated parking on the drive.

Discover wonderful walks and cycling from your doorstep, take a public footpath over the babbling brook into the bluebell woods opposite or explore the ancient and glorious Ashdown Forest. Some local maps and recommended walks are provided. Make the most of the many and varied local attractions such as the Bluebell Steam Railway www.bluebell-railway.com and Sheffield Park National Trust Gardens, both within 10 mins drive. The South Coast and South Downs National Park are reachable within 45 mins, Glyndebourne Opera House, and the vibrant market town of Lewes only 30 mins and Brighton Marina 40 mins by car. So, you can easily explore the best of both worlds, a high weald forest landscape and the Sussex coast!
