The Oast at Martins Farm Estate

About

A converted single-kiln oast house in Frant, East Sussex, The Oast at Martins Farm Estate offers a countryside stay for four, close to Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Once used for drying hops, the house retains its distinctive round rooms, exposed beams and turning cowl. Inside are two bedrooms, an AGA kitchen and spaces for cooking, eating and settling in after a day exploring the Weald.

The Oast has its own private, enclosed garden, while guests are welcome to explore the estate’s fifteen acres of meadow, orchard and woodland. One well-behaved dog is included, with a second by prior agreement. Dogs should be kept on a lead beyond the garden, where deer and other wildlife may be present.

A separate outbuilding provides a boot room and laundry facilities for muddy boots and wet coats. Wi-Fi and parking are included.

The location makes a base for visits to the Pantiles, Scotney Castle, Bateman’s and Bewl Water, alongside village pubs and walks through the High Weald as well as easy as access to 1066 country, Bodiam, Battle and the rest of 1066 country.

Book directly with the owners through the Martins Farm Estate website. Minimum stay: two nights. Both bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs.
